It was Road Safety Week last week and as part of this campaign Harold Stock & Co Solicitors are supporting the charity ‘Brake‘ to raise awareness of road safety, in particular among young children. Brake is a national road safety charity that aims to raise awareness of what can be done to make the roads safer and prevent tragedies. This year’s campaign specifically focuses on preventing the distraction of drivers. You may already be aware of this campaign through the national news.
Staff at Harold Stock & Co had a ‘Bright’ Day on Friday 22nd November as a fundraising activity for Brake.
This involved members of staff coming into work dressed in bright clothes for a small donation. All money raised will be donated to Brake to help make the roads safer and to fund work with families bereaved by road traffic accidents.
In addition, as part of our ongoing contribution to the local community, which includes sponsorship of various local organisations, we have helped our local school, St George’s CofE Primary School in Mossley, with the purchase of children’s high visibility vests – and our partner firm Jones Gough LLP in Stockport helped their local cub-scout group with the same. The school will use the vests for their regular class outings, including their regular ‘Welly Walk’ and trips to the local swimming baths for lessons, with the scouts making similar use of theirs. The presentation of the high visibility vests to the school took place on Friday 22nd November.
