I am passionate about my work with victims of trauma and I am determined to ensure that those adversely affected by the actions of others get the rehabilitation and compensation they need to regain their independence and quality of life
I was brought up in South Manchester only leaving to go to Nottingham University and then to Law School in Guildford before returning to my natural habitat in the North of England.
Initially I worked for a small firm covering all aspects of the law but very soon specialised in serious injury law at large national firms, at the same time as studying for and obtaining a Health Care Ethics Masters degree at Manchester University. The degree helped me to understand the many non legal issues that arise within the health and social care arena that my clients face on a daily basis.
I have learnt a lot from the remarkable individuals who I have represented as I watch them and their families deal with the after effects of a head injury, the consequences of an amputation or the pain symptoms that fractures and soft tissue injuries can produce.
I have also specialised in claims against lawyers whose incorrect advice has led to under settlement or to a claim not being as successful as it should be and in claims against medical professionals who have caused avoidable harm.
The skills I need for work and for my home life, with a husband and two lively young adults, appear to be interchangeable at times each reminding me to live in the moment and to be patient with myself as I try to “do it all”. Patience is also needed in abundance as a lifelong supporter of Leeds United F.C.
