The Government have today published guidelines aimed at getting the housing market back in action. Due to the continuing requirements for social distancing, this is by no means “business as usual”. However, it is enough to ease the deadlock caused by the tough and necessary lockdown conditions imposed on 23rd March 2020. The lifting of some restrictions previously imposed will allow for house moves, viewings and valuations to take place safely.
The guidelines include advice in relation to:
- Preparing your property for sale
- Arranging and conducting property viewings
- Making and accepting offers on property
- Property Searches and Surveys
- The Conveyancing Process
- Preparing for your move
The full guidance published by the Government can be found here https://www.gov.uk/guidance/government-advice-on-home-moving-during-the-coronavirus-covid-19-outbreak#history

Fiona was always easy to get hold of or quickly replied to messages. She always gave the impression of having time to discuss matters of concern with us. The whole process was smooth and we had confidence that Fiona was on top of everything. We were impressed by her competence and professionalism. Many thanks.
I have just completed my house purchase with Harold Stock. Rachael Chamley dealt with my purchase and I am very pleased with how she did so. Any communication was dealt with promptly, efficiently and clearly; she made it go smoothly, despite delays with my mortgage. I felt secure in her control. I will be recommending this company to any of my friends who need a solicitor.
I am very glad that I chose Harold Stock to handle my house sale and purchase. The process was a challenging one as there were issues with my buyer’s buyer that saw my buyers first sale fall through and second sale delayed. All of this was completely beyond my control or the team at Harold Stock, but the situation was handled with calm and reassurance. My sale and purchase were handled by Fiona Jackson and I’m very glad for that. Fiona was able to explain to me in clear and simple terms what was happening and the steps that she was taking to keep the process on track. My sale and purchase were at times quite stressful, but it would have been far worse without Fiona’s reassuring presence and certainty that she would arrive at the right outcome for us.
I cannot recommend Rachael Chamley enough. Further to her exemplary actions, I have advised others to get in touch with her. She has been invaluable. I will continue in all my endeavours to contact Rachael. Through her diligence, professionalism and perseverance, we managed to achieve what seem impossible due to others inabilities at other firms parties involved.
Thank you so much.Mr C – Stockport
Rachael handled my sale efficiently and in a very pleasant and professional manner. She prevented potential problems by anticipating possible issues and resolving them before they became problematic.Mrs M Wilkinson – Wilmslow
